Katie examines a patient's genes to determine if medicine is compatible with their genetic profile.  Pharmacogenetics uses a person’s genetic information to know how some medicines will work for them.

Some genes can make a person more likely to have a rare but serious reaction to a medicine.  For example, an anti-depressant that is not genetically coordinated may have no benefit or severe side-effects.
